Welcome to First Grade!

Dear Parents,

Welcome to first grade! I look forward to working with your child this year. This is a very important year. We need to work together very closely. I hope that you will attend all PTO meetings and parent/teacher conferences. If you send notes I will try to reply immediately. You may contact me at school in the afternoons from 3:15-4:00. If you need to reach me at home, my number is 484-7373. Please call before 8:30 p.m.

Your child will need a daily snack. You may send one from home as long as it is NOT a carbonated drink or in a glass bottle.  Snacks may be purchased at school on a daily or weekly basis (75 cents to $1.00 for a drink and 50 cents for chips). Please send all money in an envelope with your child's name, my name, amount of money, and purpose of the money.  This will avoid any morning confusion.

Your child will have homework this year.  I will send home a homework letter on Mondays.  It will tell you what work has been assigned for the week.  Please keep this posted in a safe place at home and send back homework in the take home folder.  Also check your child's folder daily for their behavior.  A green dot means good behavior, a yellow dot means warnings were given, and a red dot means inappropriate behavior. A note will follow a red dot explaining the behavior.

Please keep in touch with me throughout the school year.  I expect this to be a wonderful year.

Sincerely,

Tammy T. Jackson
